Why Vicarious?

Because there is so much life and so little lifetime. I wish I could adopt a new puppy every week, buy a new pair of shoes every day, and toast at a new fabulous restaurant every night. I wish I had three husbands: a cowboy in Aspen, a chef in St. Tropez, and a pilot to take me around the world. And I wish I could live 100 lifetimes so I wouldn’t miss all the great stuff of the future. A time machine would be nice too, Paris in the 50’s, New York in the 20’s. Well, a girl can dream. (I am getting close on the shoe thing).

Actually, I’m a very happy girl. But I find it a great joy to enhance my duties as a mother/wife/businesswoman with a sense of romance. The pursuit of a life in style is what adds vibrant color within the simple lines of everyday living. Tasting new lands and walking in a fabulous pair of boots are how I vicariously fulfill my wonder about all the lives I want to live.

Since there is only so much time, we must live through each other. The places we go and the things we consume are a gateway to fresh attitudes and feelings. My passion for travel, fashion, and food is an attempt to do just that, to feel what it’s like to walk, however briefly, in another pair of fabulous boots.

In celebration of life and style, I give you this podcast, a monthly video in which viewers can expect dispatches from my endless search for great things.
